It is one of the most amazing palaces that I've visited.

A must visit if you're ever in Berlin... too bad I don't have photos from inside the palace. Photography not permitted you see...

Berlin... around Bebelplatz

Arrived in Berlin late last night. Went straight to the hotel, driven by a speed demon of a taxi driver. I had my first encounter with the speedsters that German drivers are known for. Who would blame them when they have an autobahn with no speed limit?

Mama wasn't feeling well and Papa wanted to sleep in. Me? I wanted to start seeing Berlin a.s.a.p!!

So I left them in SuiteHotel (our abode for the next 4 days) and headed towards the first destination... in the eastern centre, area around the Bebelplatz

It was also my first experience with the German mass transit system... known as S-Bahn and U-Bahn. Luckily, there's an S-Bahn station just outside our hotel, and aided by a tourist map obtained from the front desk, I charted my way towards my destination.

As with any new place, I had to spend some time getting oriented. Which subway to take, which direction, how to get ticket, what kind of ticket to buy... Spent about 1/2 hour lah jugak trying to figure things out. Luckily the ticket machine ada English jugak, so that was extremely helpful

Germans are known world wide to be a stickler for punctuality and efficiency. So right on the dot as listed on the timetable, the red line S-Bahn arrived to whisk me away...

One of the reasons that I had wanted to visit London jugak is so that I'll get to snap some photos of this wonderful city at night.

Now that I think of it, why didn't I go and tangkap gambar kat Piccadilly Circus jugak? duh!!!

Somehow the allure of London was too strong to resist. Tak perlu sebenarnya visit London again because I was here about a year and a half ago and have jalan2 sepuas2nya.

But reality is, one never gets puas with London

And since it has been almost 20 years since Mama & Papa stepped foot in London, thought it would be nice too.

So after the long drive from Bath, checking into our hotel near Kings Cross station, we went jalan2...

I so heart London!!

Mama & Papa were sleeping when I went out to snap a few photos.

Actually takut jugak jalan sorang2, but it's a safe town and alhamdulillah I was ok. Since sunset was not until around 9:45pm, I had to wait a while baru lah keluar, because I wanted to capture the city at night.

A walk to remember

One of the things I liked about Bath is that they have free 2-hour walking tour organised by the Friends of Bath Trust (or something like that)

I was an informative and interesting way of seeing the city... the 2 hours walk seemed like 10 minutes!

The guide did not just tell us about the history of Bath, he also cerita about the uniqueness of the buildings in Bath (he obviously loved architecture comme moi ) and the important people in Bath's long history.

In addition to that, he also recounted the background for some of the phrases we often use in English such as *daylight robbery*, *taken for a ride*. It was educational as well.

I would love to come and visit Bath again... and again!
