Around Cambridge
|
|
I didn't have much time to explore Cambridge. Lucky for me, I've explored this town two years ago, so tak lah terkilan.
Nonetheless, it wouldn't be right to be here and not explore. So in between habis seminar (which is around 6pm) and dinner time (which starts at 7:30pm), I walked around a bit. Peeking my head here and there.
The colleges are more or less empty... students are still away on summer holidays. Those who remain are mostly fellows, postgraduate students or *outsiders* like me

King's College Cambridge
|
|
I spent a few days here attending a seminar. Felt privileged to be staying and *learning* at this prestigous home of the intellectuals. Although I can't quite say that I *studied* in Cambridge
King's is one of the largest colleges, and "lucky" me, instead of staying in one of the old buildings, the organisers put me up in one of their newer buildings behind The Backs. Which is a good 5-10 mins walk from the main buildings. I don't mind... forced exercise is always good And the weather was agreeable too.
Too bad, most of the days while I was here were gloomy with clouds hanging above. Which is not optimal for photography.
But what the heck... gambar masih perlu diambil

Phantom of the Opera
|
|
This is my favourite musical EVER!!
I was lucky and got really good seats. 3 rows from the stage. Seated so near to the stage, I would see their facial expressions and several times had goosebumps and nearly had tears. So near I could even see spit coming out of the actor's mouth, hehe.
It's an amazing, amazing show. No wonder it is so highly acclaimed and has lasted this long.
I love it so much, next time I'm in London I definitely want to go see it again

Natural History Museum

Only had about 1/2 hour for an express visit of this museum.
The thing I like best, is its architecture. Beautiful!

Haunted London Walk
|
|
No... I did not encounter any ghosts, and it wasn't at all scary.
If anything, it was insightful and the excellent guide brought us through the small alleys in the City, which is the origin of London. We stood on what was and still is the main road from Roman period. Taken to the best place to see the Tower Bridge (and during sunset to top!). Told ghost stories and sinister history that this place is rich with.
An excellent walking tour which lasted 2 hours, but felt like 15 minutes. The only evidence of the duration was my aching feet
Highly recommended to anyone who visits this amazing city.

Visiting Buckingham Palace
|
|
Yes... I've stepped foot INSIDE the world famous Buckingham Palace. Fortunately this trip coincided with the dates that the palace is open for public visit.
Although the ticket is a bit expensive, what the heck... it's a chance that may never re-occur.
Unfortunately, no photos allowed inside, so here are just shots taken outside.
