Stamford Bridge aka Chelsea Stadium

Had to sms Abg to check the directions to get here... situated in a posh area, most of the cars we saw on the road were either Mercedes, Mini Cooper or BMW

A tip for all those travelling to London: There's an awesome halal kebab shop located between the tube station (which is in a shopping mall) and the stadium. Gives Taza a good fight :-D YUMM!!!

British Museum

London is blessed with so many great museums... and best thing is that they're free!

It's a sin to be in London and not to visit the British museum... so I "forced" Amt pay a visit, hehe...

Emirates Stadium

Being a football fan, Amt wanted to visit the "holy" grounds of the EPL teams. There were several in London, but we visited only the two largest.

Arsenal is Abg's favourite team, and Amt's nemesis. Tapi visit lah jugak kan ;-)

Buckingham Palace and the Changing of Guards

Another "must-do" if one is in London... It isn't spectacular but it's just one of those things.

But I must say... seeing the guards in their red uniform, marching in unison is a wonderful sight. Actually it is the atmosphere... seeing people from all corners of the world, sitting there peacefully, having a wonderful time with friends and family, interacting with the "bobbies".

We didn't stay long... just enough to catch a couple of songs.

Tower of London

We contemplated whether or not to visit the Tower of London. I had just been there last August, so it wasn't high on my list. Explained to Amt what's in there... and we decided to save our GBPs for other things.

But of course, if you've never been to London and are not likely to go there again anytime soon, it is a historical site that I encourage you to visit. So much history and the Beefeater tours are always very enlightening. The crown jewels are there too...

Back in London again

The first leg of our trip is to London (30/4 - 2/5)
Amt has never been to London, plus London has the best connection to the rest of Europe... ergo.

Arrived in Heathrow early morning and took Paddington Express (on hindsight, should have taken Paddington Connect instead, which is cheaper yet more convenient than taking the tube into London).

Booked ourselves a night at St David's Hotel (whenever I'm in London, I either stay here or at Travelodge... unless if it is an official trip :P ). Our room was not ready, so I decided to take a quick shower at one of their bathrooms before heading out. No point staying there and waiting until our room is ready. London is waiting!!

Not sure what to do first, we decided to take the infamous double decker red bus towards Liverpool St station. Amt wanted to see the "gherkin". So off we go...
